I have been wishing I could join in and show off my "USED" to be a foster kid photo but as of yet we haven't been given an opportunity to adopt from foster care*.
*Well that isn't entirely true. You know we could have but in the end we decided we were way to green, way to young, and our bio kids were at a critical impressionable age and it just wasn't going to work.

It hit me today that even though our experience with foster care didn't match up with adoption (yet) we still had kids that USED to be in foster care and their going home WAS A SUCCESS that needs to be celebrated. Their Momma worked her tail off to get to bring them back home, she keeps working her tail off ever single day and she deserves to be celebrated and congratulated.
Not only that we have had kids in our home who are STILL in foster care and I want more than anything to advocate on their behalf. It may not be statistically probable that I would be able to find a foster home that would step up and adopt them personally but I can help find a foster home that could step up to the plate for another older foster kid just like them! If its possible I have to at least try. They are worth it!
So... I took some time today and made my very own foster care promo shots. I wish I could show off all the adorable faces in each picture but I would never do that without permission so I made mine without faces. It's a little headless horseman-ish but we made it work. If you are involved in foster care submit your own photo's to MamaFoster or if you want I'll even help you make one to submit. I love this campaign and am going to show it to my foster agency and suggest our families get involved making similar photo's to post around town. Surely if we obscure identities enough we can do this! They are always looking for foster families and this is a great way to draw people in. Beats the stuffing out of the plane jane flyers they use now with nothing but our agency name and number!
