My Chalk...

Chalk.
It can be oh so beautiful!
Chalk can make masterpieces
worthy to be treasured forever.
Unfortunately,
no matter how elaborate the masterpiece,
if its made with chalk,
it can't be treasured for long.
All it takes is a little water
and all the hard work is gone.
My sweet little girls are little pieces of chalk.
Brittle.
Easily Broken.
& only temporarily mine to treasure.

And so I handle them gently,
take care not to break their spirits,
and treasure each and every moment.
For all to soon the current of life
will sweep them from my grasp
onto bigger & better things.

Is this your own writing? I love the comparison of chalk to our children! BTW, I love your blog "mission" and feel like it could be describing my blog as well!

Mindy - Yes! this is my own writing... had hopes of writing much more but had to squeeze it into a few words just to make the 9:00 deadline!
