Today Josh and I picked up a Christmas present and by the time we were home four of our seven kids knew we had it, where it was, and EXACTLY what it was.
I think we need to step up our game.
Like a lot!
Until now Christmas has been easy-ish for us. None of our kids have been sneaky in trying to find hidden gifts. We've never really had to do the Santa thing because Mr. and I decided we would teach the history of the original St. Nick (did you know he was an orphan?) and focus on the birth of Christ. Presents are from Mom and Dad and other family members not the jolly old man.
Yeah we are one of "those" families. We don't really do the Easter Bunny or Tooth Fairy either. Just not our thing.
But now we have fosters and we can't very well ruin the magic for someone else's kids...
So I've decided we are going all in. Honestly, what choice do I have? We got an elf on the shelf and are going to do the whole "Santa" thing with 100% effort on our part this year. Or at least I'm going to try. Josh thinks I'm being flip-floppy on our "Santa standards."
There are worse things to be floppy-floppy on right?
